Many sick people think sickness is from God. Meanwhile, it’s not true. God is good. He doesn’t want anything wrong to happen to His children, so He protects us. However, He sometimes allows us to face life issues to make us learn some mysteries in His Word practically.
Take Job’s life as an example. God gave the devil the chance to cause harm to him, but even that was impossible until He removed His protection from his household (Job 1:11-12). After all the afflictions, Job ended up with a double blessing of the things he lost (Job 42:10)
God isn’t the author of confusion. Sickness doesn’t come from God. But it’s better to know why God doesn’t want you to be sick.
God wants His kingdom to spread so that more people will get saved and discipled.

1. To fulfil purpose
One of the hindrances to the fulfilment of purpose is sickness. Imagine God has called to preach Jesus to nations. How can you fulfil your divine mandate if you’re bedridden and unwell?
God wants His kingdom to spread so that more people will get saved and discipled. So He has taken it upon Himself to protect His servants (all the children of God are also servants of God). Jesus never fell sick upon his sleepless nights and all-day work. If He loves His Son as He loves us, then it’s His will for all of us to be in good health (3 John 2).
2. To glorify Christ
Everything that glorifies Jesus portrays God’s will for us. Sickness doesn’t glorify God because He never created us to be sick. He has created us on purpose for a purpose. And for that purpose, which is to live and express Christ in diverse ways according to each person’s calling, we need to be in health.
God created us on purpose for a purpose.
