As believers, God has called us to preach the gospel to all nations. Maybe you thought the divine calling applies exclusively to pastors or people in full-time ministry, but it’s not. As we have accepted Christ as our saviour and are part of the body of Christ, it is our divine mandate to spread the good news in whatever way we can. ‘All Nations,’ as we are commanded to reach out, doesn’t mean we should start by getting an international passport and travelling afar to other countries. No! Instead, preaching to a next-door neighbour and bringing them to Christ will go a long way. Moreover, we have a greater chance of spreading the gospel to all nations in this internet dispensation.

Sometimes, we encounter things that prevent us from fulfilling this mandate. Some may be because we feel inadequate, perhaps because of some physical disability, financial constraints, cultural background, or just a little too shy. But we best believe that the God who has sent and given us the mandate will help us in the places we come short for His glory.

In Exodus 4, when God called Moses, he gave an excuse for speech impairment, but the Lord answered Him and said,

“Who hath made man’s mouth? Or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the unseeing, or the blind? Have not I the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say”

Your infirmities don’t limit how far God can take you. Beloved, it doesn’t matter what situation you may be in. Prioritise evangelism wherever you go and trust Him enough to work through you.

Jesus came to die for each person

Remember that Jesus came to die for each person with the view of saving the entire world. The Lord’s mandate on the earth was to save everyone to Himself. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 that, while we were yet sinners, Christ came to die for us. Also, Romans 10:9 (KJV) says,

“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Jesus has saved you from your sins since the day you opened your heart to Him to save you. In view of that, live not according to the ways of the world. Be set apart and live a life pleasing in the eyes of God.

The gospel must reach the lost

Don’t keep this great news of God’s salvation to yourself, but make it a necessity to spread it to all men to be saved too. Reach out to the lost to preach the gospel. The “lost” in this context are people who haven’t come to the knowledge of the Truth (Jesus) and are subjects and victims to the wiles of the world and the enemy (Satan). It is imperative to reach out to them with the gospel of Christ in order for them to come into the Light and be saved. Jesus, while he was still on earth, on one occasion, admonished Peter to feed his sheep emphatically. In a way, this admonishment applies to us Christians even to this day.

Your infirmities don’t limit how far God can take you.

Finance the gospel

Of all the means and ways we can contribute to spreading the good news, funding is the most crucial. When Jesus was with the disciples, Judas was known as the coin keeper (treasurer). That informs us that even in those times, finances contributed to the ministry. So, as followers of Christ, when we have the means to support with funds, we should not hesitate. We must use our funds to help preach the gospel to all nations, and in doing so, we fulfil our mandate as the chosen in Christ.

Beloved, as you labour in the Lord and help in whatever way you can to preach the gospel to reach people and bring them to Christ, know that your work is not in vain and that the good Lord will reward you greatly in due time. Stay blessed.
