Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” - John 4:34 NKJV
Consuming spiritual food is very important in every Christian’s life. It doesn’t only nourish you spiritually but also keeps you strengthened in the anointing always. As the physical body will be weak if not fed, so the human spirit (not the Holy Spirit) of a child of God will be weak if one doesn’t get spiritually fed consistently.
There are two main kinds of spiritual food according to the Bible: the Word of God and the doing of the will of God. The Word of God also comes in various forms — milk (1 Peter 2:2), meat (1 Corinthians 3:1), and strong meat (Hebrews 5:14), depending on the level of spiritual maturity of the child of God. As for this one, Jesus gives it (John 6:27, Isaiah 55:2). He does it directly through the Holy Spirit (John 16:13) or His anointed servants (Jeremiah 3:15).
According to Jesus, doing God’s will and finishing His work is a kind of spiritual food. Servants of God who know their callings are the ones who really benefit from this kind of spiritual food. When Jesus revealed this mystery to the disciples, He was filled with the joy of seeing a disbelieving Samaritan woman getting saved.
Working for the Lord doesn’t make you weak. Instead, it makes you strong because there’ll be a flow of the anointing. Don’t renounce God’s call upon your life. Don’t complain to God when you face issues in the ministry. Jesus was physically hungry when He said what‘s written in John 4:34. God hasn’t forgotten your labour of love. He will reward you. Don’t give up!
You’re a blessing.
