Conduct Yourself in a Manner Worthy of the Gospel of Christ

[27] “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,” – Philippians 1:27 (NKJV)

Some people in this world behave nicely when highly esteemed people are around but very badly when such dignitaries are absent. Sadly, this behaviour is exuded by many people around men of God. They behave well when they see their pastors around or in church, but they are entirely different at home or the workplace. I’m not talking about those who stand for the gospel when they find themselves in a secular environment. I’m rather describing practical hypocrites. Paul recognised this. So, he told the Philippian church that they should let their behaviour be worthy of the gospel of Christ. Today, that same Word goes to you.

We live in an evil age where genuinely good people are becoming more scarce. Today, hardly will anyone do something to help you with no sinister motive in mind. So, as a believer in Christ, you must conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ because someone is looking unto you to see Jesus.

Yes, there is no need to live according to men’s expectations. But when you focus on living a godly life, your life will testify that Jesus transforms lives. Let the light of Christ in you shine so brightly that onlookers will find no fault in your life and give glory to God.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to live each day in a way that pleases You. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
