The Gospel Is Not Chained

[12] “But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, [13] so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; [14] and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.” – Philippians 1:12-14 (NKJV)

I don’t think there has been any preacher who suffered so much for the cause of the gospel other than Apostle Paul. He was flogged several times, imprisoned and martyred for preaching Christ. But as an inmate, he wrote several epistles to various churches, especially those he founded. One of them was the Philippian church.

Despite the imprisonment of the man of God, the gospel remained unchained. That is a powerful reminder that no matter the circumstances, as a preacher, you should never cease spreading the gospel. Even in countries where public preaching or Bible reading is prohibited, the gospel is not chained. If you are a believer in such a country, you can use the internet to preach Christ. You can use your phone to connect to the Bible.

Don’t give excuses to God for not doing His work, no matter the issues in your life. Even in a tight environment, there is always a way to go about God’s work. Don’t cease asking God for direction when circumstances prove otherwise to what He has placed in your heart to do.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your lovingkindness in my life. Please help me to keep preaching the Word no matter where I find myself. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
