Continue Sowing the Seed of Good Works in People’s Lives

[9] “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” – Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

By the grace of God, I have had the privilege of working and interacting with diverse people in my few years of life (at the time of this writing). One virtue I have seen that many people lack is patience, especially in terms of having their requests granted, even in my parents’ home. Many people claim to love, but few are able to be patient with others. And so, because of that, several people give up before they see the fruit of their investments. Hmm!

With understanding from Galatians 6:9, consistently doing good to people is an investment. It’s an act of sowing which will yield returns when the giver doesn’t give up. But those returns will come in due season, which you may never know. In other words, doing good to others isn’t like farming, where you can accurately predict the harvest season. When you continue sowing the seed of good works in people’s lives, the harvest time for you is unknown but sure.

Dear friend, I don’t know how many people have hurt you and made you stop blessing others. But remember that 2 Timothy 3:2 says that men will be ungrateful in the last days, which we are living in right now. So, practising generosity with the expectancy that people will bless you back won’t help you. In fact, you set yourself up for disappointment when you do that. Keep helping others, but also live on God’s assignment, lest you give all to others while neglecting yourself.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me keep helping others in ways possible, as You have given me the capacity to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
