Rise to Deal with Any Evil in Your Life

[8] “When a king sits on his throne to judge, he winnows out all evil with his eyes.” – Proverbs 20:8 NIV

This scripture looks so superficial but very deep. While studying it to write the devotional, I had to pray more to ask God to reveal what was there to my spirit. And it was interesting to see.

There’s no doubt that Solomon, the one who wrote this proverb, was a king. So, he had physical experience settling cases between people, even difficult ones. And because of his authority, he knew how to use his eyes to make people shut up. He really had an understanding of his authority. But to you, dear believer, do you understand yours in the Lord?

You’re not an empty Christian. You’re filled with the power of God to order things according to how you want them from the realm of the Spirit through prayer. But do you know? The Bible says in Revelation 5:5 that God has made you a king and a priest. So you have divine authority over the devil and his cohorts. But you must use it.

From the devotional anchor text, you can only winnow evil with your eyes (of spiritual authority) when you sit on your throne. That means that before you can function in your highest divine authority, you must walk in the consciousness of who you are in Christ.

I don’t know what you’re battling with in your life now. But all I want to tell you is that by divine authority, rise to deal with any evil in your life, be it addition, bad accusations, whatever the case. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (see James 4:7).

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me divine authority over the devil. Please help me to walk in the consciousness of this truth and order every unrest to rest in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
