[7] “And Jesus saith unto him, I will heal him. [8] The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. [9] For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.” – Matthew 8:7-9 (KJV)
Jesus, though very busy, always attended to people when they needed Him to do something for them. Once, a centurion approached Him to seek healing for his dying daughter. So Jesus wanted to go to this man’s house. But the centurion said something that surprised Jesus. He said that he’s a man of authority. So instead of Jesus coming over to his house, He should just speak a Word for the girl to be healed, and Jesus did it. Guess what? The centurion’s daughter received her healing. When the centurion went home, he enquired about when his daughter received her healing, and it was the exact time Jesus released the Word.
Some miracles like these exist not just during Jesus’ ministry on Earth. It is happening today, but only for believers who know how to use their divine authority. Did you know that Jesus has given you divine authority to trample on serpents and scorpions? You have authority over the enemy and his demons. But if you don’t use it, they can capitalise on your ignorance and cause harm in your life without you knowing how to do anything about it.
It is not every situation God will step in your case if you don’t use your divine authority. Sometimes, you must step up from a place of authority to speak order to things, even if you’re not around, for heaven to respond to you.
God will always be God whether man follows His ways or not. Your inability to pray doesn’t make God any less God. Stop blaming your predicaments on God if you haven’t prayed about it. The devil is never your friend, so don’t entertain his evil ways in your life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the authority of Your Word in my life. Let Your will be done in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
