[19] “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” — Matthew 18:19 NKJV
I’m not yet married, so I’ve not agreed on something specific to pray about with a spouse. But I’ve had the privilege of partnering with a few people to pray about specific things several times. And in all those moments, God has never failed us. I believe this is so because of the spirit of agreement I had with my friends.
Do you remember what Jesus said in Matthew 18:19? If only two people agree on earth about anything they ask God for, it’ll be done for them. What Jesus said has no exceptions. It’s only one condition that makes it valid. That is, the spirit of agreement: “If two of you agree on earth concerning anything …”.
Maybe you’ve been believing God for something unique for a long time and have been praying alone. Could it be you just need one more friend in Christ to team up with you to pray? If you’re married, your spouse should be the first person to go to about this. Or else, a close brother or sister in the Lord will do.
Don’t stay at your corner praying for something alone. You can use Jesus’ principle of agreeing with someone else to get guaranteed results from God. Rise and do something about this, my friend. There are varied ways of prayer. And agreeing with someone else about a matter is one of them. Use it.
Prayer:
Father, blessed be Your name for teaching that agreeing with another person to pray will give us results from You. I pray that bless my life with meaningful friendships who’ll stand with me whenever I need them to agree with me in prayers. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
