Learn how to demarcate every monetary resource that gets into your hands. Don’t spend everything or save everything. Invest some.
It’s not enough to know God says remember Him in your youthful days. You must walk by that revelation. But how? Simply by taking His Word seriously.
You don’t have to pray with the intention that God’s face will shine on you. Just commune with Him. The more you do it, the more Christ-like your life will be. And people will see real holiness in your life like never before, even though it’s scarce in this perverse generation.
Don’t commit it to people. If you commit it to them, shocks from disappointments can really harm you. Instead, commit it to God.
Not everyone around you believes in you or what you say to them. And no evil planner will do that when you’re around. They’ll always conspire against you when you’re not with them. Be wise in your interactions with people.
You need people in Christ. But God didn’t build you up to be totally dependent on them for your fellowship with Him. Otherwise, you wouldn’t need to pray by yourself. Be like David. There were priests in his kingdom. But He relied on God for direction. The Lord is your strength.
In the midst of turbulent circumstances, don’t run away from God like what Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden after they ate from the forbidden tree. Instead, run to God. Speak unto Him. Tell Him what David said in Psalm 28:2, “Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help…”. Speak in tongues if you can. Talk to Him. He’ll be there to calm you down.
It is not just Church leaders who are priests. We are all priests, and we have the responsibility of ministering to God, being ambassadors of light on this earth, and teaching others the difference between what is holy and profane.
Let your greatest desire be to know God, not to earn titles, construct properties, build organisations, get married, have a family, etc. When your devotional life unto God is intact, you’ll get what others work so hard to get with ease. You’ll be surprised at how much God will lavish your life with provision. Just focus on following Him. He will beautify your life.
God is wise. He knew that the only thing that can stand the test of time without being subject to change is His Word. That is why He said, through Paul, that parents, fathers especially, must bring children up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
Many parents don’t understand that children are a heritage from the Lord (see Psalm 127:3). So they treat them as if they own them, even when they’re adults. Now, when your child is very tender, you must train him in God’s ways, disciplining him more strictly. But as the child grows into adulthood, don’t dominate their lives, especially when they are workers. If that happens, it’s really frustrating.
