The Lord Is Your Strength

[7] “The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.” – Psalms 28:7 (NKJV)

I understand each person was brought up by one’s parents or guardians or somebody else. You didn’t become independent overnight. Someone took care of you. But as you grow up, who do you draw your strength from – people or God? If I ask an average Christian this question, obviously, he will say “God.” But do you know that some people draw their strength from men unawares?

Many believers don’t take responsibility for their personal spiritual growth. So when they don’t get fed spiritually by their pastors, they become spiritually dry. In fact, this is the reason why many believers are products of compromise in this world. Do you know why? Because there’s no personal encounter with Jesus. Hence, the fear of the Lord in their lives is missing.

Today, as you read this, begin to take measures to change that narrative in your generation, beginning from you. As you do that, you’ll begin to depend less on your pastor to do all the spiritual work in your life. You’ll no longer need to let the church tell you to fast before you fast because God will instruct you, or you’ll make decisions to fast yourself.

Now, I’m not saying that you don’t need pastors or spiritual authority over your life. No! You need them. But God didn’t build you up to be totally dependent on them for your fellowship with Him. Otherwise, you wouldn’t need to pray by yourself. Be like David. There were priests in his kingdom. But He relied on God for direction. The Lord is your strength. Do not give up!

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, strengthen me by Your anointing and help me do Your work tirelessly. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!
