[2] “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” – Ecclesiastes 11:2 (NIV)
The world is constantly changing. While growing up, I hardly saw people using laptops or even good mobile phones. But within twenty years, mobile devices and laptops are everywhere and at even lesser costs. So, for instance, the one who invested in a keypad phone-selling business without upgrading to smartphones would have been driven out of business by now. Solomon knew this. That is why he urged us to practice multiple investments in Ecclesiastes 11:2.
In fact, he said we should invest in seven ventures with another eighth exceptional one, which I’m sure is reserved. Please understand that this is the richest man who ever lived on this Earth’s advice, not just any ordinary person. That means, to be shielded from any impending evil from the world, your investments ought to be divided all over. So it’s impudence to spend everything you get if you want to be rich. Things don’t work just like that.
From today, learn how to demarcate every monetary resource that gets into your hands. Don’t spend everything or save everything. Invest some. But be well guided in where you invest your money. I’m not a financial expert, so I can’t give you a piece of professional financial advice. Take your time to study about finances in the Bible and apply what you learn. Additionally, listen to people like Dave Ramsey for more professional financial advice too. May God guide you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, teach me about stewarding every treasure You give me well. I pray, in the name of Jesus, to connect me to the right people and to live debt-free. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
