When Joseph decided to divorce Mary, God stepped in not because of Joseph but to protect His prophetic words from getting annulled by one grieved man. And Joseph obeyed God. May God give you a spiritually submissive husband.
God is your Builder. He fearfully and wonderfully made you (see Psalm 139:14). Hence, He knows you more than you know yourself. And that means, He knows the things you can do by His empowerment which you don’t even know. Humble yourself under His mighty hand, and He will lift you up in His time (1 Peter 5:6).
When God joined Adam and Eve together as man and wife, they were both naked and felt no shame. God’s glory covered them to the extent that sharing whatever each spouse had with each other was not a problem. When prenuptial agreement gets into marriage, it turns to a demonic scheme employed by the devil to breed mistrust and selfishness. Don’t fall for it.
Child of God, you are married to Jesus. And since marriage comes with faithfulness, you only owe allegiance to Jesus – to submit and serve Him with all gladness at heart. All the fruits you’ll ever bear in God’s kingdom are totally dependent on your relationship with Him.

Love shares without any fear of loss. Desire and work on transparency in your relationships, especially in marriage. Be accountable to each other so that the devil will not suggest evil thoughts of mistrust in your partner’s mind.
One of my favourite Bible verses is Proverbs 24:27. In that verse, Solomon teaches that you should put your outdoor work together before building a house. In other words, he was saying, “Ensure your work and vision are well established before building a home.”
During Jesus’ time of earthly ministry, the Israelites used to pay temple tax before entering the synagogue. In the context of Jesus’ spiritual understanding, it wasn’t right for God’s children to pay tax before entering the temple to worship. He knew this, but the Pharisees didn’t. Nevertheless, in order to avoid causing offence and to maintain peace, he performed a miracle, got money out of a fish’s mouth and paid the tax for himself and Peter. At that moment, Jesus valued peace more than his knowledge [Matthew 17:25-27]. Not everyone has your level of spiritual understanding. Deal wisely with people.
If the wise men had disobeyed God, baby Jesus would have been killed by Herod. The saviour of man wouldn’t have executed His divine mandate — that is, taking away the sin of the world (John 1:29). That also means there would be nothing like salvation, and people would have continued wallowing in sin worse than today. One simple obedience has collaborated to billions of people having access to salvation today and counting.

Don’t watch the enemy steal your man from you. It’s not just about meeting a godly partner but keeping him, both before and after marriage. When a man hears from God to do something, he might not say it immediately. Joseph didn’t explain why he still took Mary home as his wife, even though God told him to do it. So dear lady, pray for your man because when he’s under Elohim’s leadership, you also will be safe and enjoy each other.
Joseph was from the tribe of Judah. So if Mary had lost him, we wouldn’t have had any right to call Jesus the “Lion of Judah.” Can you discern your man well, virtuous woman? Don’t treat him like a jerk or a son. Love him, respect him and care deeply about his welfare because men rarely get even a little of this kind of treatment from women except for their mothers and sometimes sisters.
Joseph was a just man. He was faithful to the laws of God. And because of his integrity, he wanted to divorce Mary quietly after finding out she was pregnant through the Holy Spirit. What this would have meant is that Mary would be stoned to death and also accused of committing adultery since Joseph wasn’t the one who impregnated her. But God protects godly relationships from failing.
