In the season of singleness, you’re not just waiting for love; you’re being built for it—a love built on a shared love for God. So, learn how to pray and fast. When Christ is the foundation, love becomes more than an emotion – it becomes a covenant. It is written in the Bible that nobody is supposed to separate what God joins together in holy matrimony [(speaking of marriages); see Matthew 19:6]. So, God hates divorce. That implies He has made provisions to address cheating in relationships too.
Submit to one another as believers. But in your home, dear wife, submit to your own husband, not just any man or another person’s husband. Your husband has authority over your life, not any man.
Dear father, do not exasperate your child. In other words, do not intensely frustrate your child. If you keep doing something the child doesn’t like that is meant to fulfil your selfish need instead of the good of all parties involved, stop it. You represent Christ in the home. Be careful to do that work diligently.
If you don’t hate your body but love and cherish it, why don’t you love your wife so well that you’ll give her everything she needs, including your body and affection? God knew a time would come when believing husbands may falter in these things. That is why He institutionalised this command in the scriptures.
No man on this Earth, no matter where he finds himself, can live up to God’s standards if he does not bow to the majesty of Christ. And it becomes more dangerous when such a man is married. Why? Because it affects not only his life but also his family.
The Bible says wives must be submissive to their own husbands. And that command has no conditions attached to it. In this case, whether your husband is good or bad, once you are a Christian wife to him, you must submit to him. That is simple!
For you to become one flesh with your wife, you need intimacy. That intimacy is exclusive to God, and it requires privacy. Prepare for your marriage, and never hesitate to ask God for help as you prepare to marry.
You may have determined in your heart not to repeat your dad’s mistakes, which is good. But it won’t happen by merely making that decision in your mind. You need to work it out. Lead your home. Let your house serve the Lord–from yourself to your littlest kid.
Since the Canaan got cursed by Noah way back in Genesis 10, all his descendants formed part of the curse. God, who knew Jesus would come through a woman, chose to forbid the Israelites from marrying any Canaanite descendant all throughout the Old Testament because He wanted to preserve the holy Seed of Christ flowing through Abraham’s family line, especially Judah.
Make your marital rest place more than merely a house but a home. And as a spinster, it’s less about depending on a man to come and marry you but more about how to obtain wisdom to build your home with your man in the future.
