[9] “Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” – Mark 10:9 (NKJV)
Marriage is honourable above all. But when a couple stands before the altar to declare their vows, many people think it is about the pastor joining them together or the laws of the country doing that. But Jesus said in Mark 10:9 that no man should separate what God has joined together. That means God is the joiner of marital unions, not any man, law, or system.
Do you live with both of your parents married for years? Or are some of your friends married? Don’t think what binds them together is that marriage certificate or the wedding ring they are wearing. It is God. And because of that, you are restricted from making them separate. This command goes more to counsellors and other family members who think they are experts in solving marital problems by suggesting separation and divorce.
Dear friend, don’t take God’s responsibility for yourself. Instead of thinking evil about someone’s marriage, why don’t you pray for such a couple to enjoy their union? There is a glory that comes with living married, and if you didn’t enjoy that privilege, don’t think the same for others.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for everything You do for me. Help those enjoying the blessings of their marital union keep enjoying without any hitches. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
