The Corinthian church, back then, was one of the churches Paul founded, noted for committing grievous sins, especially sexual immorality, including incest. Even though Paul was in prison writing epistles to churches, he had representatives in many of these churches who brought him reports of what was happening. To address sexual immorality, Paul told them that each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. Even though Paul gave this command to address such sins, it has become a doctrine in Christianity, and there’s nothing wrong with it.
Marriage, according to scripture, can serve as a tool to fight fornication and other forms of sexual immorality. For those who desire to have sex so much, getting married gives them legal access to sex with their spouses as much as they want. So, don’t be surprised if you see people get married because of sex. To such people, it is better for them to get married than to burn with passion. In some places, a man will be forced to marry a woman he has had sex with, especially if it results in pregnancy.
What am I saying here? God frowns on sexual immorality, so He honours marriage. But He also knows humans are stubborn creatures who like breaching His laws, some for reason of comfort. That is why He charges people in some areas of life to do the right thing or face the consequences. Dear one, your body is God’s temple. Respect God enough to preserve it in purity.
