[21] “And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.” – Luke 2:21 (NKJV)
God is a God of vision. So when He speaks or gives instructions, it’s for generations, not just for the receiver of the Word. Once, I heard one minister say that he is now used to people sending him messages with the note “Thank you for saying yes to Jesus.” Suppose Mary didn’t believe what Angel Gabriel said, forgot the child’s name, or Joseph also chose to rename the child; we wouldn’t be mentioning the name “Jesus” today.
I never saw in any of the four gospel books that God kept sending people to remember either Mary or Joseph or another person about the name of the child. The couple learned how to keep that name in mind till the time Jesus was named after eight days were completed for His circumcision. You must know how to nurture and live by godly conviction every day if you want to see God’s prophecies being made manifest in your life.
Sometimes, many believers disobey God because they forget to write down the vision He gives them. And because they forget, they also fail to wage a good warfare by working in prayer and living by discipline. Don’t be like that. Godly vision will remain as ideas if you fail to take it up. Habakkuk 2:3 tells us to write down the vision. Why? So that the one who sees it will run with it. Do that if you want to live by vision.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your immense support in my life. Help me never to forget any little thing You tell me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
