[19] “But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.” – Luke 2:19 (NKJV)
Mary remembered many happenings in her life since the time the angel Gabriel told her that Jesus would be born through her. When Jesus was born, she, with Joseph, in a manger, had multiple surprise visits from people she never knew. One was a group of shepherds, and the other was the wise men (the Magi).
Like a new mum, it is surprising to see people visit you when you give birth without even taking a phone to announce it to your immediate family. So when the shepherds visited them while they were still at the manger and heard what the angels shared with them, it was surprising. But wise Mary pondered all those words in her heart.
How do you process the miraculous news you receive? Do you ponder on God’s faithfulness or forget to acknowledge God for His works in your life? I advise you to be like Mary. When God fulfils any one of His promises in your life, take some time to reflect on His faithfulness. This advent season, reflect on how far God has brought you. Don’t be an ungrateful believer who doesn’t give credit to God’s grace in every area of your life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to ponder on Your faithfulness in my life every day. I am grateful for what You have done in my life so far. Receive my praise today. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
