Enable Grace To Supervise Your Life’s Outcomes

[8] “When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” [9] For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,” — Luke 5:8 - 9 NIV

How many times have you tried doing something significant in your life only to end up in shambles? Think deeply about this. It could be your own ability to build a habit of reading specific chapters of the Bible each day or having a quiet time with the Lord each dawn. None of these activities are evil. But there have been multiple cases where people who wanted to build them in their lives failed miserably to sustain them. Do you know why? They used human works to cultivate something grace has to take charge of.

Simon Peter laboured all night to catch fish for business. But he caught nothing. So during the day, when he was washing his nets, Jesus came by, using his empty boat as a temporary sitting place to preach to the multitudes. And after finishing, Jesus, seeing how empty that boat was, ordered Peter to move it a little deeper into the sea for a catch.

Jesus never told Peter how much he’d catch if he simply obeyed Him. He (Peter) was frustrated for catching nothing, but chose to obey Jesus’ Word – there, a miracle happened.

All Peter’s heavisome toils over the night were useless. He allowed his own human labour to do the work and had nothing. When Jesus, the person of grace, came around and gave him divine direction through one uncommon instruction, he had a bountiful harvest that he’s never seen in his life (see Luke 5:7).

Here’s something noteworthy. When you enable grace to supervise your life’s outcomes, all its results will be outstanding because God Himself will take responsibility for those things through you. Yes, you have issues and needs. But you don’t have to use human calculations to solve all of them, especially when disappointed. Turn them over to the Lord. Let Him show you how to go about those problems. You’ll have peace and awesome outcomes.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for grace. I enable that same grace to supervise my life’s outcomes. I refuse to be a control freak on things You’ve planned to do through me. Flow according to Your will in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
