[6] “And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. [7] And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.” — Luke 5:6 - 7 KJV
One time, Jesus was preaching to multitudes, and a time came when he had to use Peter’s boat to sit down and preach. Jesus, after teaching, told Simon Peter to launch the boat into the deep water and let down his nets for a catch. Then, Peter, out of frustration, said he and his team had worked all night but caught nothing. However, he opted to obey Jesus even though he didn’t know Him.
To Peter’s surprise, he had a bountiful catch that put stability pressure on his boat. He went on to beckon his counterparts to help him offload the fish in the nets, so they’ll not sink.
Here’s truth. When you build purposeful godly support systems, they’ll help you manage your miracles wisely. Had it not been for Peter’s partners, he would have sunk into the sea even though he encountered a miracle, even though Jesus may have prevented that from happening. And because of the importance of this in our lives, pursuing peace with all people is needful (see Hebrews 12:14).
You’ll never know when you’ll need the help of that person you despised today, even if Jesus comes through for your situation.
Guard your life against isolation. And while it’s good to choose your friends wisely, make at least many acquaintances with people regardless of age and societal status. So that when you need help, you’ll not lack options.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to build purposeful godly support systems in every area of my life according to Your will; so that I’ll not lack options to seek help in anything I need for the advancement of Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
