The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” — Jeremiah 31:3 NIV
How many times have you heard this statement, “I fell out of love.” That statement usually comes from people who don’t know how to love like Jesus, largely the unsaved. As God wants us to love Him and others the way He loves us, it’s His responsibility to show us how He loves so we can mimic it by divine enablement.
According to Jeremiah 31:3, it’s written that God has loved us (His people) with an everlasting love. I checked the meaning of “everlasting,” and it means forever. So here’s the truth.
God will never stop loving you. And this decision is from Him. It doesn’t depend on your failures, shortcomings, poor character or even your good deeds. None of them increases His love for you. The extent of love God has for you is at its peak, and it’ll never diminish. If you love Him back by becoming submissive to Him in all your ways and obeying His commands, you’ll enjoy His love more.
I want to encourage you that no matter how dark your past is, God is ready to clean everything and give you beauty for ashes. Give Him space to heal you by the supply of His immense love in your life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, just as You have decided to love us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), imprint upon my heart – the pursuance of unending love in all my life endeavours in Christ Jesus. Amen!
