[22] “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. [23] But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” – Matthew 6:22-23 (NKJV)
Light is very important in life. I hail from Ghana, and sometimes, we have power cut issues. Anytime that happens, people send heavy criticisms to the Energy Minister and the Electricity Company of Ghana. Sometimes, I see it all over the news and my social media feed. But for sure, when there is a power cut, I can’t work quite well because my laptop, mobile phones and even the internet connection destabilise for a while. What am I saying? I need light to have a healthy life, especially concerning work, and I believe so do you.
Your spiritual eye is a very significant spiritual sense in your walk with God. Once it is not healthy, your whole spiritual walk is in jeopardy. Why? Because any child of God who doesn’t have divine light doesn’t follow Jesus closely (see John 8:12). That means that such a person will lack divine leadership in his life and will certainly not live like Jesus.
You must labour to have a healthy spiritual eye. But how? By investing in knowing God intimately every single day. Prioritise prayer, Word study, fasting and going to church regularly. Doing these consistently will illuminate your spirit with Christ, and your life will follow the direction of God’s purposes.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to have a healthy spiritual eye that honours You and Your leadership over my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
