[34] “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. [35] Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.” – Luke 11:34-35 (NKJV)
Every day, people flood in hospitals to conduct medical checkups on their health, and that is good. But when was the last time you assessed your spiritual health? When did you sit down to check whether your spiritual life (relationship with God) is progressing?
Too often, people get so busy with life that they chase after money, educational degrees, or other material things and leave their spiritual growth work aside. I overheard a man of God say that in the world of work if you don’t take care of yourself, a time will come when it will even be hard to pray. It is not because he doesn’t like praying, but because he has been counselling so many people struggling to pray as they continue to age.
Life is not easy. But thriving in your spiritual growth is what will make other areas of your life more beautiful. Instead of getting distracted by the many cares of this world, why don’t you prioritise having a sweet relationship with God so that He can bless you? Think about this!
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving me eternal life. Help me to grow spiritually in You despite the pressures of life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
