[24] “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: [25] and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” – Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV)
Life is not filled with only happy days. There are also evil days. How Biblical is this? Proverbs 24:10 (NKJV) says,
[10] “If you faint in the day of adversity,
Your strength is small.”
From this, you need strength and such strength will be tested on the day of adversity. Jesus said that so long as we are in this world, we will encounter tribulation (see John 16:33). That means that there are days you will not like. Think about the day you lost a loved one. I suppose you didn’t start your day thinking such would happen. Right? But it did. In those times, it is your strength that will determine how you’re going to survive. And so because of that, Jesus provided a remedy to these situations beforehand in Matthew 7:24-25.
In that verse, Jesus said anybody who hears His Word and walks in it will be likened to a wise man who built his house on a rock. Such a house never gets destroyed by boisterous storms because of its strong foundation. I want to ask you a question. What makes up the foundation of your life? Is it God’s Word or another thing? Think about this for a moment.
God’s Word has stood the test of time. It hasn’t changed or lost a single bit of power to transform lives. Don’t downplay its role in your life. No! Live with it in your consciousness. That will give you security in life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the security of Your Word in my life. Help me to keep feeding my spirit. Strengthen me to walk according to Your ways as a way to prepare not to fall in evil days. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
