[10] “If you faint in the day of adversity,
Your strength is small.” – Proverbs 24:10 (NKJV)
In natural life, there are ups and downs. There are days you’ll be extremely happy, probably when you hear good news. But there are days things won’t go so well. And in those times, that is where your inner fortitude will be tested. You’ll pass through the furnace of affliction. And even though it’s not so cool, God will help you deal with evil things within your heart for you to be delivered.
However, if during the day of adversity, you faint in faith, the grace not cease praying and investing in pursuing a deeper intimacy with God, then the Bible says your strength (inner fortitude) is small. In fact, that is where you’ll realise that you’re not strong in faith.
Sometimes, people say strong Christians are hard on themselves because of the stubborn faith they carry. That saying is true, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Jesus was hard on Himself as well as His biological family. He never called Mary “mother” in the Bible. Neither was He much involved with Joseph, His earthly Dad. Why? Because Jesus understood that He had to stand for the cause of His coming on Earth, or else societal norms would turn him to be an ordinary man. And that is what has happened to many people today.
Child of God, don’t follow what the worldly people say about life. Try this; try that. No! Live by the structures and systems God has helped you to build around you life based on you revelation of God’s Word.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Lord, help me build my inner fortitude deeply in You daily as I pursue to know You more. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
