Blessed Are You When You Trust in the Lord
God knows how fallen this world is. So because of that, He doesn’t expect us to trust people but Him.
Knowing God Devotional is an online daily devotional written by Andrews Baah Kwafo, the president of The Bible Daily Network.
God knows how fallen this world is. So because of that, He doesn’t expect us to trust people but Him.
It’s not about how much you already know about God because there’s always room to know Him better by the spirit of revelation each day (see Ephesians 1:17-18). Don’t relax in your personal Bible study, prayer schedule or fellowship with the brethren. Keep moving forward because you’ll never regret doing that.
Instead of taking matters into your own hands and repaying evil with evil, let the Holy Spirit take charge of your thoughts, actions and speech. You’ll live offence-free in Christ.
God wants you to have such a pure life that even the closest unbeliever won’t have anything evil to say about you. But the truth is, you can’t get to that standard without Him. Allow Him to have His way in your life.
True freedom is found in Christ Jesus, not in our efforts or in the world. But after being set free by Jesus, there’s more. That is, to keep your freedom by grace and use it to serve one another humbly in love.
Keep giving divine knowledge to the poor through preaching the Word. Support them by your own means, but ensure their understanding of kingdom finances gets enriched as they listen to God’s Word from you. They might be slow in spiritual growth, but trust in God for progress.
Having all things in abundance to do God’s work is a result of the supplication of grace. But that dimension of grace only comes when you excel in giving purposefully at heart and bountifully as you have from a pure mentality.
You don’t have to seek fame, popularity, media influence or anybody’s recognition. Just pursue intimacy with the Lord. Study to show yourself approved unto God, and He will take care of the people coming to patronise your work/ministry without you paying anything to lure them.
Glory in tribulations because there’s nothing you’ll go through for the cause of Christ that the Father won’t reward you.
God rewards intentional good deeds done in secrecy to help others. He’s a big fan of that. He didn’t call you to make a name for yourself. Put away media influence in your charitable works, and do what God has called you to do with a pure heart, with or without recognition from people.
There’s nothing God says “do” that you cannot do because He provides grace to do every one of His commands. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you as you stand firm in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of a truth, this world will be better if undeserving people get loved by unexpected believers in Christ.
Between the time God speaks about the fulfilment of something and the time it gets fully manifested, there’s always a gap. And that is where patience and trust get highly tested.
