[14] For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” — Galatians 5:14 NIV
If I love my mum, I won’t consider harming her in any sect. I will do my best to do her good all the time, even when she doesn’t deserve to receive it. I don’t need to have a stringent set of dos and don’ts in my head on how to manage her presence in my life. No! Love has got all the good things covered.
Now that is how God wants us to live. He wants us to walk in love towards one another, so much so that we’d dispense the love we have for our individual selves to that of others, even the undeserving.
If you’re hungry, will you watch yourself stay hungry? I suppose not unless you want to discipline your flesh while you’re fasting. Otherwise, you’ll start thinking of ways and means to get something to eat.
Now if you love yourself this much that you don’t want to struggle, how much more living the same way towards your fellow brethren in Christ?
All the laws God gave the Israelites are summed up in one word: love. Therefore, love is the fulfilment of the law. Hence if you live by the inspiration of God’s love, you’ll receive divine enablement to walk in good works every day. You’ll realise you won’t need to struggle to live like Jesus in this evil world.
Many people live crushed and broken. Don’t add up to their problems. Love people as they are because that’s the same way God has been doing for you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me. Inspire me to walk in this same love towards many. So that Christ will be made known everywhere I go. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
