“[4] As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him” — 1 Peter 2:4 NIV
Did you know that Jesus was chosen by God but rejected by men when He (Jesus) came physically to the world?
In John 1:10-11 (NIV), the Word says,
[10] “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. [11] He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.”
The whole universe was created by Jesus and for Him (see Colossians 1:16). So it was sad to see the owner of the entire universe walk upon the face of the Earth without men knowing Him, all because He took the form of a man, in fact, a servant.
I want to tell you today that not all men are the same. They may walk and talk commonly to people. But their identity and mentality differ. So don’t treat everyone like a nuisance.
Jesus was different from everybody while on Earth, even though His own people – the Israelites, rejected Him. Though He was rejected, it didn’t change His identity. He’s still the Son of God.
When you face rejection, remember that God values you. Don’t let someone’s “no” to you make you think you’re useless. Draw your identity from your Maker, and all these earthly problems will not affect your mind.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, I pray in the name of Jesus; please help me identify my identity in You. Make me so secure in who You’ve made me that rejection of men won’t affect my purpose. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
