The Lay Ministry — Is It Scriptural to Practice?

Since Jesus gave these gifts to men, it’s clear that not everyone in Christ has the same gift. 1 Corinthians 7:7 tells us that each has his own gift in Christ. So, if the gifts are diverse, then each believer’s function in the body of Christ is different. That means that when it comes to ministry, some will represent Christ using their gifts in full-time ministry and others in the lay ministry.

Be Renewed in Your Inner Man

No matter what work you do, you must insist on spending time with the Lord regularly. When you do that, it’ll help you to be renewed in your inner man each day. As a matter of fact, it enables you to work more effectively than any ordinary unbelieving worker.

Follow the Way of Love

To love as Jesus did, you must live like Him, and that takes grace to do that. You will be offended, gossiped about, and even conspired with by the very people you may never suspect. But in all these things, whether you hear of the evil talk of men or not, love them.

Work as unto the Lord and Not unto Man

Work is a vital aspect of our existence today, shaping and moulding the world, as we all can attest to. Regrettably, many have perceived work as burdensome and unfulfilling, driven by financial gain rather than their purpose. In this article, I want to talk about how individuals, particularly believers, can embrace the value and essentialities of work and approach it with all diligence and enthusiasm.
