Just as the Apostles obeyed Jesus, went out to preach and came back rejoicing for the exploits God used them to wrought on the mission field, so you’ll return to God rejoicing each day for learning obedience through the things you have suffered (or suffering now).
When you wake up, what do you thank God for? What burdens do you cast to the Lord daily? This world isn’t fair, and too many people say times are hard. Would you learn to watch in hope of the Lord?
Herod got trapped by his own oath to her daughter — who was directed by her mother to demand the head of John the Baptist. Be careful of making oaths in happy moments, especially in the midst of secular people. You might fall into a trap with your own words.
Whether it’s fear of rejection, an uncertain future, getting financial help or missing God’s providential way, He’s there to fix every issue and heal your pain. There’s more to life than momentary issues. Don’t be afraid. Keep trusting God. He’ll help you.
Your possessions, both material and immaterial, can become a god to you when you decide to exalt them above the God who gave them to you. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that you have what you have today because you received it. No gift in Christ is for sale. Instead, it’s to help you accomplish your divine mandate and also to help others.
Anchor your hope in the Lord, and live with eternity in mind. You’ll see that what many people struggle to get will be supplied to you without struggle.
When a believer brags about the things he has and built without giving credit to grace, he takes God’s glory unto himself, and that’s terrible wrongdoing which can attract severe punishment from heaven.
If there’s anything in your life that you’ve leaned on, so much so that you’ve set all your hope in it, renounce that trust immediately and turn to God.
Life isn’t a rush. Life is about purpose. And the director of your life is the Lord of heaven. Be anchored in your identity in Him, and don’t be intimidated by what people are doing to move on. Each person’s race of faith is in Christ, but everyone’s purpose is unique. Walk with the Lord, and obey your leaders in Christ.
You can’t change the past, but you can do something about your future. Choices are more powerful than statistics.
