“In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.” — Psalms 25:1 NIV
Life is filled with so many uncertainties. There’s no guarantee that the one pretending to help you today isn’t doing it for his own advantage, even if the reason is futuristic. Because of this challenge, many people take advantage of others and do evil things behind their backs. I’ve had ministers tell me that they no longer trust anybody in their lives. Do you know what happened to them? Disappointment; that is it.
Man’s life is filled with so many infirmities that putting your trust in a human is a trap for later disappointment. If you want to trust people, trust the God in them, who’s able to turn their hearts unto righteousness. That is why it’s for your own safety to get married to someone in the Christian family, not an unbeliever. Why? Because such are those in whom the Holy Spirit dwells.
David experienced a fair share of disloyal people and traitors in the kingdom of Israel during his reigning time. He came to the point that He couldn’t trust anybody. So, in many of his Psalms, you’ll see him write, “I put my trust in God.” He knew what he was writing. And I recommend that same counsel for you.
Just put your trust in God always. In a relationship, build your bond with Jesus. In your field of education, build your career on Jesus. Let Him be the firm foundation of your life – not your certificate, degree, connections or people’s promises. He alone has the entire plan for your life. And He’s too good to lead you astray. Hope in Him.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, I reaffirm my trust in You. Perfect everything that concerns my life. And help me build upon every vision you’ve given me according to Your pattern. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
