and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.” — Mark 11:2 - 3 NKJV
I love how authoritative Jesus was whenever He sent any of His disciples on an errand, whether preaching, buying food or any other chore.
One time, He sent two of His disciples to go and untie a colt and bring it to Him. In fact, Jesus’ prophetic antenna was so sharp that he described how they’d find the colt. And indeed, they saw it just as Jesus illustrated. Wow!
However, there’s even more. He instructed the disciples that if anyone asks why they’re untying the colt, they should respond, ‘The Lord has need of it.’ Jesus never had to pay to rent the colt. He used His divine authority to get it, even on an errand. His words are powerful.
Symbolically, the colt represents people who are oppressed by the devil in life, so much so that they’re missing God’s agenda for their lives. Jesus specialises in sending ministers across the paths of these lives in order for them to get saved and brought to Him!
Maybe you feel rejected by your family and friends. Or you feel stuck in life, wondering when some situations will cease happening. I invite you to call upon the name of Jesus for help. Sometimes, it’s not just about Him sending people to you, but you also calling upon Him.
Wake Jesus up in your case. For the Lord is in need of you to do many kingdom exploits far beyond whatever you can think or imagine. Lean on Him, not on your own understanding.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, save me from a stagnant cyclic life that is bankrupt of progression. I invite you to my case. Take control and create changes for Your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
