“The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.” — Proverbs 10:22 NIV
What brings wealth? Some say it’s work. Others say it’s business. Others still say it’s by wise living. These arguments are all facts that may or may not work out. But most importantly, what’s the Biblical answer to this question? Let’s see it by reading the above scripture (Proverbs 10:22) again.
The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, not money, business, work, or even inheritance. Wealth in itself consists of many things aside from money. And because of this mystery, God is the only One who gives the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18).
There are several things the Bible speaks about concerning God’s blessing unto His people. Let’s look at what it entails for those who fear God in Psalm 128:2-4.
[2] “You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Psalms 128:2-4 NIV
[3] Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
[4] Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.
The above scripture only speaks about the blessing of the Lord concerning the family of those who fear God. There are several of them scattered in the scriptures. You can read more in the Psalms and Proverbs. However, treasure the ones above because they are great.
I’d like us to also look at the second part of Proverbs 10:22;
“…without painful toil for it.”
While unbelievers struggle to build wealth and good families through earthly strategies and systems, the Lord gives these things freely to those who fear Him without a single bit of struggle.
As God’s child, you have to work. Work activates God’s power to get wealth. However, you don’t have to draw fulfilment from your work but from the Lord who strengthens you to do it.
Do you feel sorrowful to earn the bread you eat? Do you suppose it’s too hard to be successful in this world? Don’t worry about how much salary you’re making. Just fear the Lord by staying in His presence and walking according to His Word. He’ll make your path shine brighter each day. He’ll give you the wisdom and divine strategies to both make an impact and a living while allowing you to enjoy His blessing upon your life. Amen!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Oh Lord, I now understand Your blessing that makes one rich, not painful toils. Help me live in submission to Your Word and the leading of Your Spirit in me. Amen!
