[8] “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV)
God is great, and He wants all His children to be great. Unfortunately, many believers are so used to living shallow lives that when God is elevating them higher, they reject it. I remember having a conversation with a friend a long time ago before writing this article, and he was telling me about how hard he struggles to make ends meet. When I told him that God is able to do whatever he asks, thinks or imagines (see Ephesians 3:20), he didn’t like it. He was so used to living in hardship that he didn’t believe God could elevate him. What a tragedy!
In 2 Corinthians 9:8, the Bible says God is able to make all grace abound toward you. The word “abound” in that scripture means to exceed a fixed number of measure. That means God wants you to excel in every area of your life, so much so that you’ll not lack in anything and, out of that blessing, bless others too. Can you hold on to this revelation and walk in it?
Don’t settle for less. You may have made up your mind to struggle to build a house, get one car and have a stable job. That is fine, but it’s too shallow for you. God didn’t bring you here on Earth only to survive. In other words, He didn’t bring you here just to get what you need to live. No! He called you to be a blessing unto generations. Think like that and let it permeate your thinking patterns.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, raise a higher standard of my view of how much You’re willing to bless me. Help me not to settle for less in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
