“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”— Ephesians 1:3 NKJV
When I freshly joined my local church, my pastor always addressed God’s people that “You’re a blessing” instead of saying, “God bless you.” In the beginning, I was challenged by that because I hadn’t heard it in any church I attended. But later on, he explained that according to Ephesians 1:3, we are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. So saying “God bless you” is a tautology. But saying “You’re a blessing” confirms what the Word says in Ephesians 1:3.
You don’t need another spiritual blessing to be relevant in your generation. You are a blessing to generations already since you came to Christ. But its manifestation depends on you. Will you go to God to show you which strategy to use to bring the blessing to fruition?
God is a Spirit (John 4:24). That means, He doesn’t build physical buildings and projects. He shows whatever He wants to build on Earth to His children because He has given this Earth for humans to have dominion (Psalm 115:16).
So here’s the truth. The blessings of God that have the potential to impact generations are in you as spiritual seeds of eternity. You can only bring it to fruition by abiding in Christ, who can empower you by His grace and give you the wisdom to build upon those blessings according to God’s pattern.
Don’t stop praying. Don’t cease working for the Lord. Keep pressing on. Stay committed to fulfilling Jesus’ mission. He’ll not forsake you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I affirm the truth that I am a blessing unto generations. I refuse to be ordinary, and I submit to your leadership to carry out my life’s assignment. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
