[25] “Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.” – Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV)
Drivers are some of the most focused people I’ve ever seen on this Earth, especially when they’re by their steering wheels. Rarely will they turn their heads side by side while driving. But why? It’s because they’ve been taught to focus when driving. Check the cause of many accidents on roads. Usually, they come from distracted drivers. That is a big lesson for us. When you lose focus on what God has called you to do, you set yourself up for disaster.
Proverbs 4:25 hammers it even better. You are admonished right from God’s Word to let your eyes look straight ahead and your eyelids look right before you. Let me ask a question. Can eyelids see? Of course not. But guess what? When your eyes are focused on something, your eyelids will position themselves to let the eyes look in that direction. Frown your face, and your eyelids will change in shape; remain focused, and your eyelids won’t destroy your countenance.
Dear believer, your focus on Christ is key to making your path shine brighter each day of your faith journey till the end. To help you focus well, check these three things.
- The people you surround yourself with and listen to.
- What you watch.
- What you read.
If these three areas are well-checked and aligned with God’s ways, you won’t have a problem following God’s path for your life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Lord, have mercy on me and help me focus on what You’ve called me to do against all odds. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
