Ask for Grace for a New Year

[16] “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)

A new year comes with many new things. And I suppose you are not expecting anything less than bliss this year. But as you know, many start well and end up bad because they don’t commit their steps to grace but their own strategies and plans. Can I ask you a question? Where is your trust for success this year? Is it in your skill, money, people, or organisation?

Everything in this world is subject to corruption because there is a curse on the land (see Genesis 3:18). Have you realised that weeds grow where land isn’t developed? In fact, depending on anything aside the one true God is a trap for your life, not a confidence. So don’t put your life to chance. This year, ask for grace to excel in every area of your life. Let God guide you. As Hebrews 4:16 says, approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help because you really need help.

You are not self-sufficient. You are God-sufficient. Don’t put away God in your life and expect to do better. It doesn’t work like that. Pursue a deeper intimacy with Him. Get to know Him for yourself and follow His steps. He will help you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your immense love and care. This year, I choose to trust You to lead me and Your way everlasting. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
