God Is a Faithful God

[13] “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)

Do you know God is a faithful God? Maybe you’ve not had enough time to meditate on His faithfulness. But for sure, He is a faithful God. In order not for what scripture says to appear like a cliche, let’s dive into the meaning of the word “faithful” according to scripture.

According to the anchor scripture of today’s text, the word “faithful” means to be trustworthy. So, God, unlike humans, can be trusted. He is not a God who says one thing and does the other. What He says is what He does, and what He does is what He has said.

In 1 Corinthians 10:13, the Bible says that for every temptation that will come to face a believer, He will not allow those that are beyond his spiritual capacity to resist. Secondly, He will also provide the way of escape from it. That means the divine power responsible for resisting all of the devil’s temptations is in you. So, you have no excuse to sin.

Have you been trapped in a web of secret sins? It’s time to utilise God’s divine power in you to gain your freedom. If you are not saved, accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour and start pursuing a deeper intimacy with Him. But if you are saved, prioritise your spiritual growth.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank you for being ever-faithful in my life. Help me to keep trusting You for all that I keep praying for. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
