God is love. He cares so much about you that He wouldn’t give you anything that would end up destroying you or harm your connection with Him. Here are four checks God makes before answering prayer requests.
God cares so much about you. And He knows how far His name will reach if He elevates you. So that dream you have isn’t a nuisance to Him. He has captured it, and if it’s part of His plan for your life, He will surely take you there. Don’t be afraid. Keep moving forward in faith.
Keep praying and fellowshipping with God, both privately and corporately (in church). These spiritual disciplines help enforce the defeat of the devil in your life. Be up to task.
Is God against persistent prayers? Of course not. He hears our prayer. But He created the means for us to make pressing demands in heaven. Keep praying.
There are some needs only God can satisfy. It’s your duty to discern them, so that you’ll not demand people to meet such needs, lest you get disappointed.
Jesus knew that the Israelites were told to hate their enemies (although it wasn’t scriptural – check Leviticus 19:18). But to transform their thinking, He taught them that they should, instead, love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. Why? Because that act exemplifies the unconditional love of God in man.
Now that applies to us today
Sometimes, we’re too conscious of what we don’t have instead of thanking God for what we have now. God will freely give you all things, not only because He has abundant resources but because He’s faithful and committed to you, whether people like you or not.
In Psalm 119:169, he told God to give him understanding according to His Word. What in the world does that mean? It means with everything in this life, David sought to get the spiritual insight behind it. It applies to us too.
Don’t watch the enemy steal your man from you. It’s not just about meeting a godly partner but keeping him, both before and after marriage. When a man hears from God to do something, he might not say it immediately. Joseph didn’t explain why he still took Mary home as his wife, even though God told him to do it. So dear lady, pray for your man because when he’s under Elohim’s leadership, you also will be safe and enjoy each other.
In Matthew 7:7, Jesus teaches that you can place a prayer request to God for something. He says, “Ask, and it will be given to you…”. So the one who asks will receive what He asked God for. It may be slow or not immediate, but it will come.
Your personal intimacy with the Lord won’t grow by automation. You have a part to play. Put fire on your altar. Learn how to pray when nobody is around you. Learn how to study the Bible yourself. God never saved you to make you too dependent on the works of His servants. Connect to Him individually and daily.
You cannot be a Christian and choose to treat prayer as something optional to do, especially when you’re in trouble. Pray persistently!
