Shout Louder To Jesus

[30] Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” [31] The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” [32] Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. [33] “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” — Matthew 20:30 - 33 NIV

Have you ever extremely desired something from the Lord, which men think it’s impossible because of your infirmities? Maybe it’s a child, a marriage partner, a job, admission or some money to undertake a kingdom project. The heart’s desire is there, but people are saying “Shut up; that is impossible.” In such cases, what do you do? You’ve got to shout louder to Jesus. But what does that mean?

One time, Jesus was leaving Jericho after having a successful ministry trip. But as He was leaving, a large crowd followed him. Jesus got surrounded by people. And it wasn’t stated why they were following him. But there were two blind men by the roadside Jesus was passing. Jesus didn’t see them, but they shouted, ‘Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!’ The crowds rebuked them and told them to be quiet. But these two blind men didn’t give up. Instead, they shouted all the louder to Jesus. Jesus heard them, attended to them, and they received their sight back.

In the matters of our lives, the crowd represents the negative voices from the internet, bad friends and culture that counteract the faith we have in Christ to get what we’ve prayed unto the Lord for. Do you allow those voices to mute your voice of prayer unto the Lord, or do you intensify the prayers?

It’s not always easy to get what you want, even if it’s from God. Sometimes, you have to go the extra mile through prayer and fasting. Sometimes, you ought to apply divine principles against your own comfort. Things don’t work merely because you wished for them but because you pressed hard to get them. Keep working, and the Lord will reward your labour.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Father, thank You for giving me the strength to pray about my needs. Today, I request You to give me the tenacity to persist until I get what I desire that is aligned with Your will for my life. I refuse to give up. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
