[1] The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? — Psalms 27:1 NKJV
Many people battle with fear and lack of direction in life. They see this, and they want to do it; they see that, and they want to pursue it. It’s unfortunate how many people have landed in certain realms of life they never imagined because of the absence of divine light and direction.
David didn’t have that experience. He knew his purpose, so he wasn’t tossed to and fro about what to do in life. I admire how selfless he was, showing us one of the keys that helped him to say on course in Psalm 27:1.
He said, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?…” In other words, David prayed against misdirection in life by God, serving as illumination in his path and deliverer in times of trouble.
You may not figure out every decision as perfect as it is. But will you pray for God’s light to illuminate your mind with spiritual understanding? Possessing this will make you rule your life because you’ll know what and what not to do, projecting the future effect or impact of your actions today.
Even as you keep making mistakes here and there in life, keep declaring to yourself this truth: “The Lord is my light and my salvation.” Repetition of the confession with intentionality will affirm your faith in God’s Word, and it will work for you. Don’t be afraid; move on in faith. The Lord is your help.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, be my light in every decision I make from today. Be my salvation when I need You to save me from all harm, planned or unplanned, by the enemy and his cohorts. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
