[7] “Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.” – Galatians 3:7 (NKJV)
In Israel, Abraham is one of their most revered ancestors. Everybody knows that he’s of Abraham’s descent. So, when Jesus told some of them that they would be set free if they abide in His Word, they disputed that they’ve never been in bondage to anyone (see John 8:31-33). The Israelites were not doctrinally wrong, but they lacked the spiritual understanding of what Jesus said.
Today, Abraham’s descendants aren’t only native Israelites. All believers in Christ are included. Therefore, those who are of faith in Christ are children of Abraham. Why? Because Abraham’s seed, which is Christ, dwells in each Christian. Child of God, you are Abraham’s child. So, all the blessings of Abraham also apply to you.
Unfortunately, it is very sad to say that many believers don’t know this. Some are so well vested in doing all they can to be wealthy by their own strength instead of relying on God to empower them to work. See, in Christ, God has blessed you with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places (see Ephesians 1:3). But those blessings don’t turn into reality if you don’t first understand it and have fellowship with the Spirit to show you how to bring them into reality. From today, study the blessings of Abraham and claim them over your life.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for making me a partaker of Abraham’s blessings. I claim them by faith in Jesus’ name. Amen!
