[11] “But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.” – Galatians 1:11 (NKJV)
Some people in this world think the gospel of Christ is some sort of made-up story people speak about. But that isn’t true. Peter said in 2 Peter 1:16 (NKJV) that,
“… we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
For Peter, he was one of Jesus’ disciples. So he preached the Word as an eyewitness to it. But Paul wasn’t there, yet He encountered Jesus physically. It’s the same as today. Every genuine preacher sent by God has an encounter with Jesus, whether from the Word or through another means captured in scripture. And because of that, no servant of God preaches a message of himself but what God has given him to preach. Even for this devotional you are reading today, I received it from the Word.
The gospel is not of human origin. It’s from God, and since God’s Word never expires or fades in impact and relevance, it’ll always be the truth. Dear friend, beware of people who wrongly judge the authenticity of the gospel. Such people are not of God. Moreover, in an age where information is saturated over the internet, beware of people you listen to online. Grace be with you!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to know You better every day. May I never discredit the authenticity of the gospel wherever I find myself. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
