[14] “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” – Matthew 15:14 (NKJV)
Who is a blind leader? He is a leader without a vision. You might have expected me to refer to a physically blind person leading a corporation. But no! One of the most significant decisions you can make is to follow a person who lacks a vision. That is especially crucial for women considering marriage. Before saying “yes” to that man, ensure that the person loves God and has a clear vision for the marriage. The importance of a leader’s vision in the context of marriage cannot be overstated, as it can shape the course of your life.
Jesus said, “… if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” That means that as a leader, having a vision prevents you from living a careless life. Secondly, as a follower, who you follow affects the direction your life will take. Many people know this but don’t think more deeply about it until they find themselves in an organisation that does things far different from what they love to do. Today, it’s sad that many employees don’t love their work but feel trapped doing it because of the meagre salaries they earn, which isn’t even sustainable. What a tragedy!
It is wrong to follow a blind leader because the adverse impact on your life is too unbearable. So, before joining a company, ministry, team, or corporation, please find out about the vision of that place and read the track record of how faithful they have been to it. It’ll help and prevent you from ending up in the wrong place.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your vision in my life. Always locate me in a place where Your vision in my life will come to bear in full fruition. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
