[11] “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” – Proverbs 24:11 (NIV)
In Matthew 15:14 (NKJV), Jesus said something profound that is essential for every leader and follower to take note of. He said,
“… And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
That verse means that who you follow has an influence on how your future will look like. I’m not so old. But at least I’ve seen the lives of young ministers like myself transformed when I followed God and joined my local church. So when Solomon came over and prayed, saying that God should rescue those being led away to death, he was pleading with God to help people realise the true nature of who they are following or listening to in their lives.
Some people live deceived by their colleagues and leaders. Their leaders lie to them to keep them around their lives. Meanwhile, if those same followers had prayed for God to reveal to them the path they were treading upon, they would have advised themselves and left before encountering any future calamity in their followership of them.
Could it be that God is prompting you to leave that company because of an impending calamity coming upon it? Or, God is telling you to disassociate from some friends because of their bad influence on your life?
Pray that God opens your eyes to see the reality behind whatever mission you’ve agreed to be a part of. Because that will save you from following a bad leader.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, remove every scale on my eyes to see the reality of how harmful any path I’m treading upon which isn’t part of your plan for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
