[1] “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” – Romans 8:1 (NKJV)
How great is it to live without any hint of condemning thought or voice in your mind? It helps you to enjoy your freedom and liberty in Christ. But unfortunately, many Christians don’t live like that. They are always plagued by the sin they got involved in moments, days, weeks, months or even years ago. What a tragedy!
The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV) that,
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
So the devil works so hard monitoring believers’ lives to get something against them. That is why anytime you do something wrong, you feel the guilt so much that you may even forget that you must activate God’s everlasting forgiveness in your life to overcome condemnation. One wise man said, “You’ll never get in sin what you got into sin to get.” Mmm! That is an intriguing truth there. It simply means that if you thought engaging in that sin would satisfy you, you’ll realise that you’ll not get that satisfaction you thought that evil act would give you.
The best way to live condemnation-free in Christ is to walk according to the Spirit, not just live in the Spirit. That is what is written in Romans 8:1. Every believer lives in the Spirit (see Romans 8:9). But to walk in accordance with the move of the Spirit, you must be present-minded on your identity in Christ. In other words, walk by the revelation of the Word, not by what you see or hear. And that is why you must invest in growing spiritually.
Friend, keep in step with the Spirit of God. He will guide you and lead you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for justifying us from all sin on the cross of Calvary. Help me to keep in step with the Spirit of God and live condemnation-free. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
