[39] “And He spoke a parable to them: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?” – Luke 6:39 (NKJV)
In Ghana, my country, there are a lot of people who guide blind people to help them beg for money from people in cars on the streets every day. It’s very unfortunate, but it is happening. Sometimes, when I see such a thing, it saddens me. But what can I do?
Jesus said the blind cannot lead the blind, or else they’ll fall into a ditch. That is a very essential statement in leadership. It implies that as a leader, you must be ahead of your followers, both in thoughts and in steps. Why do you think people who can see are those who lead the blind to beg on the streets? It’s because those with physical sight know which direction to lead the blind person in order to get what they want — money.
Dear leader, do not be surprised when any of your subordinates don’t meet up to your level of vision and success. It’s biblical, and there is nothing wrong with it. You must be ahead of your followers to guide them in the way of your vision. That’s why God is the ultimate leader of each of His servants.
Don’t be deceived to think that it’s of no worth to invest in your leadership capacity. It’s very worth it. Keep it up, and may God inspire you with more visionary things to do in order to live a life of fulfilment.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, guide me according to Your ways. Lead me in Your paths as I lead Your people to You. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
