[34] “Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. [35] Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” — John 4:34 - 35 NKJV
Jesus is one person I love so much. He had a different view of things compared to what his disciples saw. God sent Him on Earth for several reasons, and one of them was to seek and save that which was lost (which included humans) – Luke 19:10. But some of His disciples didn’t have that view. They were merely following Him, thinking the harvest of lost souls into God’s kingdom was futuristic. Meanwhile, it was (and is still) now, which means evangelism is never archaic in Christ.
Because of Jesus’ passion for souls, he did more missionary work than any preacher during His time. He saw the harvest and decided to take it on.
What you see in your mind will affect how you live. If God keeps showing you visions of your future, you’ll not live like an ordinary man who’s not serious about making anything impactful with his life. You’ll take on hard things to do in relation to vision fulfilment and keep pressing on to do things God has called you to do.
Do you think it was easy for Jesus to pray all night and still do ministry the entire day? It’s once I saw in the Gospels that He slept. That was when Je was in a boat with the disciples in Mark 4
Vision defines your what-to-do in life. So the moment you lack it, you don’t have a sense of purpose and direction, and that’s destructive. In fact, it’s the main reason why many people have settled for less, living ordinary lives, while God has called them to do much.
Jesus saw the harvest of souls as now. What is God showing you today that you’ve not yet paid full attention to? It could be a season in your life you should settle on some things – like career, educational pathways, marriage and other things.
Don’t be deceived. Life is in phases. And the earlier you understand your season, the earlier you’ll understand what to do from time to time. May God give you understanding.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for wisdom. Affect my spiritual eye with Your insight about the seasons in my life so that by Your guidance, I’d take the necessary steps today to reach where You’ve called me to be. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
