What to Do to Have a Healthy Relationship with God

[58] “This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” – John 6:58 (NIV)

Did you know that food is one of the most essential needs of every human to live? Even those who practice intermittent fasting cannot entirely do away with food in their lives. Yes, that is how vital food is. Your body is like it is today because you have been eating constantly since childhood. Little efforts of feeding from you have contributed to your health to date. So, with this understanding in view, I want you to picture how God’s Word is to your spirit.

Jesus said in John 6:58 that whoever feeds on Him as the bread of life will live forever. The word “live” in that verse is related to the eternal life in Christ that every believer gets upon getting saved. Here’s the thing. To have a healthy relationship with God, you need to feed on God’s Word every day. You cannot become a giant in the faith overnight or in a day. Real spiritual growth in Christ is a process just as a plant needs a lot of time to grow from a seedling to a mighty tree. How you start does not really matter, but your consistency in feeding on the Word matters a lot.

This world will never be any less busy. So, telling yourself that you’ll find time to study the Word when you are less busy is a lie from the pit of hell. Prioritise your spiritual growth, and you will surely make time for it despite your busyness.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to be intentional about feeding on Your Word of faith no matter how busy life gets. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
