“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” — John 6:35 NKJV
I like bread a lot. I eat it every week because it’s beneficial to me in most of my breakfasts. But there’s something beyond why I like it. That is, the nutritional benefits it provides to my body. It gives physical life. And because this is a reality, Jesus compared life with it.
Jesus said He’s the bread of life. And this time, not the physical life, but the eternal one. So just as I eat bread to have the physical strength to live every week, we need Jesus to live according to the patterns of God each day of our lives.
The question is, “Do you know Jesus?” Do you have Him in your heart? If you’re not born again, you don’t have eternal life. And even though Jesus is the bread of life – eternal life, you’ll not become a benefactor of His provisions because of His absence in your heart as an unbeliever.
Jesus said he who comes to Him would never hunger, and he who believes in Him will never thirst. That means when you come to Jesus, you’ll not lack what you need to experience eternal life daily. In other words, He’ll feed you with divine knowledge, so much so that you can use that spiritual understanding to experience the supernatural in your life.
So many people live in suffering because they fail to consult God on which way to take and what to do. Life isn’t about try and error. It’s about purpose, and the Holy Spirit is the perfect person to help you navigate this life in the light of God. Come to Jesus. Learn of Him, and cleave to His Word. He’ll not fail you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I pray that You’ll help me discern Your rhēma for my life today. Help me to lean on your instructions as I number my days in eternal life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
